YOUTH FOR CHRIST (YFC) Children and Youth Ministry

Our youth department is a diverse assortment of dynamic youth ministries that together compile a comprehensive program design to lead every child to become a fully devoted disciple of Jesus Christ!

We are always looking for volunteers to work in a variety of jobs some on going other just happen every now and then. If you have a interest in helping in any of the following youth ministry please contact our church office.

For the security and protection of our youth and staff all teachers, volunteers and staff are closely screened; police background checks and other references are required before working with youth.

Youth For Christ includes:

HOMEWORK HEADQUARTERS
Meeting Monday - Thursday from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. during the school year, this group staffed by our college students, grandparents and trained volunteers offers our youth ages 5 - 17 with both tutoring and enrichment opportunities aimed at improving their academic abilities. We provide meals and transportation from local schools to our site. For enrollment information please contact the church (618) 394-8901

CHILDREN'S CHURCH

This ministry provides a natural extension to the conventional "Sunday School" providing children ages 3 - 11 with a full curriculum designed to nurture bible knowledge and Christian ethics. Children are grouped according to age in a wholesome, warm and enriching environment. Every child is welcome to attend. When possible, parents are encouraged to volunteer on a regular basis and a minimum fee is charged to cover a variety of program needs.

FIRST SATURDAYS
This is a recreational fun outing organized and sponsored by our older youth every first Saturday of the month. The outings are open for members and their friends, and are designed with the entire family in mind. We encourage parents to come out and enjoy the fun!

WEDNESDAY NIGHT JAM
This is biblical training program that happens each Wednesday from 6:30 - 8:15 p.m. Youth and children are engaged in a fun environment learning about the bible and life application through games, role plays and other interactive activities.

GREAT XSCAPE
This is a "party" for youth with a evangelical message. The church is transformed into a huge game and arcade room. Youth enjoy food and fun while in a safe Christian environment. A Christian artist is always on program to present a message of the love and salvation found only in Jesus Christ. Youth are encouraged to come and prizes are given for the youth who bring the most friends!

THE UNDERGROUND
Meeting each Sunday (except the 3rd Sunday) at 12:00 noon, the program is designed for youth ages 12 - 19. Facilitated by ministers and counselors, the ministry is presented in a "rap" session format affording youth the opportunity to sound off about a variety of relevant topics. Youth participate in role plays, games and open discussions that help to instill Christian values and good decision making skills.

YOUNG KINGS
An extension of our Men's Ministry "School of the Kings", this ministry is a male's rights of passage program designed for males from 7 - 19. A comprehensive program adopted from an award winning concept currently being successfully implemented in Los Angeles, Dayton and Detroit public schools it has been adapted to be used in a Christian education format. Males are mentored in groups and are exposed to entrepreneurial concepts, a variety of skills, values, morals, team work, and Christian ethics are also instilled.

QUEENS IN CHRIST
Currently meeting on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month, this is a comprehensive rites of passage program for females ages 4 - 18. The curriculum is totally bible based and provides the girls with fun activities and events that instill godly values and nurture their Christian development into young women of God.
